First of all, singing is an art form, and not something that you can concretely say is good or bad (unless the person is tone deaf, etc.), and there are a lot of things to consider when judging someone’s vocals other than what key they are singing in. It’s true that he doesn’t have a huge singing range, and you’re probably right about him staying in the same key most of the time, but regardless of that he has a strong, emotive voice, clear intonation, and a pure tone. I sing too, btw.

he is monotone. which means he only uses one key to sing in. i know this because i sing and have been trained for ten years to sing opera (im not that good but at least i know good from bad). if you follow most of his song’s you can literally pick out the key he is singing in on the piano and follow it, and just bang that note to the rhythm and you will hear that he stays in that same key for the entire song. go ahead and try it.

I agree these are not his best vocals-the song doesn’t seem to suit his voice-but he can most definitely sing, and he’s gotten a lot better since his Hot Fuss days, which is when this is from. Look up Tidal Wave his vocals are really good on that.
